I started using ScootPad as a way to implement the new Common Core standards. I felt like I did not have enough resources since it was so new, and ScootPad provided a place for my students to practice these standards.

Two years ago when I first started using ScootPad, I primarily used it as a way for students to practice previously taught skills. Since then, I have become more comfortable with the program and now use it for differentiation in math. I have also started using the assessment tracker and really enjoy that. It provides me with the data that I need to see what skills my students have mastered and what I need to reteach. The students are engaged by the coins and the classroom rewards I have attached to them. They also really like trying to be in first place on the leaderboard!

As a teacher, I can see the standards that I need to reteach very clearly. I know who got it, and who didn't. It is a quick way to assess students and also review standards that were taught at the beginning of the year. The reading questions are challenging for the students, and they like how there are several questions on the same passage. This is the first year my school has used ScootPad and I can't wait to see the results.
