As we moved to using the Common Core, we needed an instructional tool that allowed for differentiated practice of skills taught in class. Other websites provided practices that could be assigned to and monitored for an entire class, but we lacked a program that enabled us to assign specific Core aligned practices to the students who needed it.

The ability to earn and spend coins was by far the best feature for engaging students. As they practice, they feel a sense of accomplishment when fireworks explode at the end of a practice or when they earn all possible coins for that assignment. When they finish one, they can't wait to start the next practice!

ScootPad has been a huge time saver. I can quickly run reports to see where students are proficient and in what areas they need extra practice. I then use that information to assign student-specific practices and assignments. It's helped to cut down on time spent searching for other sources of practice, copying papers, and the amount of paper I use in the classroom as a whole.
