I was challenged with finding a web based program that would motivate my fifth grade students to read. ScootPad was the perfect solution. It was a change of pace, plus the students enjoy receiving coins and seeing how they rank amongst their classmates.

I use ScootPad as an enrichment activity because students can move through the units at their own pace. Also, it keeps it fun and there is no pressure because students never receive a grade from me.

After utilizing ScootPad, my students have made vast improvements in Language Arts. They have more confidence while completing independent assessments. Also, my fifth grade students are exposed to more vocabulary and enjoy working to master each unit.
